Meet the....stationer
Ashley from Flakes Paperie is pretty rad! Not only is her work beautifully designed, it's also pretty funny! That subtle sense of humour is what caught my attention the very first time I photographed her stationary work for one of my brides, but I also had a pleasure to meet her personally at another wedding where she was the maid of honour. Her speech was so funny and one of the best I've heard, which pretty much solidified my love for her!
You can find her everyday stationary at many local shops in and around Toronto, see the full listing on her website. Wedding work is custom so make sure you get in touch with her. I visited her booth at the Christmas One of a Kind show and here are just a few pics from that.
Be sure to read her answers to my mini questionnaire below the photos.

As well as some of the stationary she designed for some of my past brides, a range of invites, to table numbers, seating charts, you name it, this girl does it all, and does it awesomely!

How did you get started?
I began designing wedding invitations for friends who were looking for something a little different. Gradually by word of mouth my invitation business grew and I began offering them alongside my greeting card collection.
What inspires you?
With custom work I'm often inspired by the couple's story - where they have been, their interests, how they met etc. When it comes to my greeting card line, I'm inspired by images and objects that evoke a sense of nostalgia and joy.
Can you give one piece of advice to a potential client?
Don't take it all too seriously. Weddings should be fun and personal, don't be afraid to let your invitation reflect that, whatever your aesthetic!
